Family-Run Campervan Hire in Scotland
Every business has a starting point — ours began with one campervan and a lot of enthusiasm for Scotland road trips. That first van was Berty, “the one who started it all”. We built our approach around what we wanted as travellers: a camper that feels cosy and practical, with thoughtful features that make life on the road simple.
What started as a passion project quickly became something bigger. Friends and family started asking to borrow the van. People wanted to know where we went, what it was like to travel in it, and how they could plan a similar trip. Over time, we realised there was a real demand for campervan hire that felt more personal — not a faceless transaction, but a friendly service where the vans are genuinely cared for and the details are properly explained.
That’s how V1 Campers grew: one van at a time, built around real-world experience and the belief that small, family-run businesses can offer something better — more care, more clarity, and better value when you book direct.
Today, we have a small fleet of four campervans — each with its own character and setup — and we’re proud to keep it that way. A smaller fleet means we can maintain high standards, keep communication quick and simple, and make sure every van is fully prepared before it goes out.
Campervan hire that’s truly ready to go
A campervan holiday should feel exciting, not complicated. That’s why our vans are set up to make your trip easy from the start. Every van is designed around the same priorities: comfortable sleeping, practical cooking, and touring-ready features that suit Scotland’s conditions.
Across the fleet, you’ll find features that make a real difference on the road:
- warm nights and better sleep (diesel heating where fitted)
- proper cooking setups so you can self-cater easily
- privacy and comfort features like insulated curtains and blinds
- campsite-ready options like 240v ground hook-up
- touring essentials like fridge/freezers on selected vans
- flexible seating setups, including swivel seats on several models
We also include the key basics you actually need — so you’re not starting your trip with a shopping list. Depending on the van, this includes essentials like cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, mugs and more — plus cleaning packs on selected models.
Comfort, clarity, and customer care
We built V1 Campers around a few simple values — the things we believe matter most when you hire a campervan:
Scotland is stunning, but it can be unpredictable. We prioritise features that help you travel comfortably, especially in cooler evenings and shoulder seasons. Warmth, privacy, and practical layouts are non-negotiables for us.
We keep things transparent: what’s included, how booking works, what you need to bring, and the important details (like LEZ compliance). No confusing fine print, no vague promises — just clear, straightforward guidance.
Because we’re family-run, we care about reputation and repeat customers. We want you to have an amazing trip and feel confident recommending us. That means taking time to help you choose the right van, answering questions quickly, and making sure the handover feels calm and easy.
